I'm a burger fiend so chose the pulled barbecue pork burger, which was a generous size with rustic coleslaw, beetroot and a dash of coriander to add a zing of something a little different.
My husband had chicken fettuccine, with sundried tomato and pine nuts in a pesto sauce($20).
He adores basil, so the copious quantities were right up his alley, as was the rich, creamy sauce.
Apparently, chef Kate is a great pasta-lover, so there was always going to be good pasta on Pronto's new menu.
We also ordered sides of onion rings and fries with aioli and sweet chilli sauce ($6 each).
The serving sizes were generous and we struggled to finish.
There is a small selection of sweet treats, ranging in price from $5 to $7.50, but we were so stuffed we couldn't fit any in (and I'm a real sweet tooth, so that's highly unusual).
As we sat in the fading daylight, Coronas in hand, we watched the Pronto team deliver exceptional service to regulars and newcomers alike.
Food was speedy, takeaway meals delivered to waiting customers at outside tables and drink orders catered to before the customers realised they were ready for another.
This level of service, combined with delicious, affordable food, guarantees Pronto a good future in our seaside town.
