Jo and Jamie Blennerhassett own The Good Food Trading Company. They live in Mt Maunganui with their two children, 6-year-old Sophie and 4-year-old George.

This is the main family room where we hang out. It gets a lot of sun and is always really warm. It's the link between the kitchen/dining
area. It's where we sit and have a glass of wine after work and where we do most of our entertaining. There's a tiny TV in here but we try not to have it on; it's more of a sitting, reading, talking room. The other living area has a massive television, the kids watch telly there.

The drawers under the window seat are used as storage for our family albums and our cookbooks and foodie magazines.

There's more cookbooks on the shelves by the fireplace which is actually a gas fire. We've got lots of old cooking books, from the 70s and 80s, and travel cookbooks, and there are our diaries about food and wine that we wrote when we were travelling in Europe.

My family's from Croatia. They own a restaurant and make all their own wine and olive oil. We spent a lot of time there, eating and drinking. We don't do a lot else really, our lives revolve around food and drink and children, but we do a lot of entertaining. Our dining table seats 14. We had it specially made. There's been quite a few times where we've had more than that squashed around it.

The rug in here came from mum and dad. It's Turkish. My decorating style? Well, it's non-existent at the moment. The yellow on the walls isn't a colour I would choose. I'd like to repaint but we're just too busy and you know, the house is comfortable. It suits us. My ideal would be a lot more modern and cleaner, but still homely, with a focus around the kitchen. We share the cooking. We're not very good at cooking together - we fight about it - we're both good at cooking, but separately.

The photos of the kids on the wall were taken amongst the kiwifruit vines on our lifestyle block. The kids are pretty involved in cooking as well. In fact, their palates are quite refined, especially when it comes to which French cheeses and cured meats.
