Another cracker concert is on next month when Operanesia returns to the city.
The group went down well when it performed last year to raise money for Waipuna Hospice, and fundraising manager Trish Rae was eager to have them back.
"They were really well received last year. They have anabsolute love of music, and their irrepressible humour and style will make it a fun night. They are a class act," she says.
Operanesia are a classically trained quartet who possess powerful voices and will sing a programme of classics, medleys, as well as popular contemporary songs, accompanied by musical director Claire Caldwell.
The group will be joined by special guest Imogen Thirlwall, who was a student of Tauranga Girls' College.
"I heard Imogen sing at the New Zealand Aria Awards and she was amazing. I thought it would be perfect to have her back to sing alongside the boys and in front of her home town," says Trish.
All five performers and the accompanist have a string of titles and achievements to their name. Tickets from Hospice Shops, Holy Trinity or Waipuna Hospice or www.waipuna-hospice.co.nz. Tickets $45 adults, $25 students.
