"I was quite surprised I won that prize, a lot of people said they voted for me so it must have been close. That was nice to hear."
Mr Wulff said it was only the third car show he had taken part in.
He said it took a lot of effort to keep his pickup looking the way it did.
"It was a great event," he said.
"There were a lot of different categories and prizes, instead of just one winner."
A $500 donation of proceeds from the event went to the Child Cancer Foundation Tauranga. Thirty trophies were handed out across 11 divisions, including pre-70s, classic '60s, commercials, people's choice and the sponsor's award for best car.
