Waking up at the crack of dawn on Monday morning, we hit the road with one thing on our minds..... FASHION!

With our little hatchback filled to the brim with ridiculous amounts of luggage, four very excited and coffee fueled Sisters girls and enough shoes and accessories to sink a the Titanic. We were ready to take on our nations biggest fashion show & tell of the year.

Umbrella's were not part of the plan and rain coats were absolutely out of the question so we had our fingers crossed that the torrential rain would ease before we hit the city! Deluge or not, our hot and up to the minute and very well planned outfits were not going to suffer compromise, rain, hail or shine! And in hindsight I don't know what the worry was, not one person glanced our way, everyone was way to busy looking at themselves!

The curtain raiser show of FW12 was the brother & sisters brands Ruby & Liam. Ruby showed us punchy yet casual day wear & Liam took our breath away with utter sophistication and well executed tailoring.... It left us all scribbling down our must have pieces of the season.

Our hot pick would hands down have to be the hourglass shapely blazer with topnotch tailoring. We are still having dreams about this jacket!

Up next was Cybele who's signature necklines, beautiful draping and original prints looked enchanting on the catwalk... We loved the shots of colour and the bold styling.

Coop by Trelise came out with a rockabilly bang. The outrageous fabrics, prints and detailing created huge stage presence and impact.  Combined with crazy footwear made for a fun, memorable show.

Catwalks aside,  our favorite fashion week pastime is always the people watching. The event centre at the Viaduct was simply bursting with fabulous and hot looking people strutting their stuff in amazing outfits!!

Trends that we spied and loved were printed pants, fluro accessories, shoes and COLOUR! Honestly the republic of NZ as a black nation has to be blown out of the water, the All Blacks new uniform should be NEON!!

Looking back on the week packed back to back with meetings, range showings, great excuses for champagne and fashion shows, its hard to believe how much we fit into such a small time! Phew, we arrived in style, we soaked it up and...we left buzzing with excitement. Cant wait for winter!

See you next year fashion week!
