The voice of The New Seekers, Eve Graham will arrive in Tauranga tomorrow as part of a 12-date New Zealand tour.
After arriving in Auckland last week, Graham visited East Tamaki Primary School where she was joined by more than 250 pupils to perform The New Seeker's most enduring hit,I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the song, which featured in a Coca-Cola television advertisement.
As a result the song sold millions of copies, earning The New Seekers worldwide recognition and a Grammy nomination.
The Scottish-born star toured New Zealand in 1972 and has performed on a variety of stages around the world, from American Bandstand and the Sonny and Cher Show, to The Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise.
Graham will be joined in Tauranga tomorrow night by Paper Lace whose hits Billy, Don't Be A Hero and The Night Chicago Died also led them to stardom in the 70s.
