Dr Michelle Dickinson MNZM, otherwise known as Nanogirl, heads up another Nanogirl Live! in Engineering Magic in Tauranga next week.
The science enthusiasts are returning on their second tour with a new magic themed story - packed with science experiments, feats of engineering, daredevil stunts and explosions.
The show organisersaim to bring science and engineering to life for young audiences.
"We believe that understanding science and engineering is important for everyone," says Michelle.
"This year's tour is travelling to 12 towns and cities around New Zealand, visiting many for the first time. I'm really looking forward to meeting people from Tauranga and being able to share science with everyone there!"
Along with the theatre tour, the Nanogirl team will be visiting primary and intermediate schools in and around Tauranga, supporting teachers through science education workshops, helping to empower teachers with new science and technology skills. These visits are provided at no cost.
Joe Davis, Nanogirl Labs co-founder and managing director, says the tour is both impactful and enjoyable.
"Research carried out with The University of Auckland has shown that this project - bringing science and engineering to life on stage - has a real impact on young people's attitude to science and engineering. It's also a huge amount of fun for audiences young and old."
