Iconic chick-flick Breakfast at Tiffany's will screen at the same time in theatres and lounge rooms across New Zealand next month in honour of the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Dove Pink at the Pictures is Dove beauty products' annual fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation and this year aimsto raise $100,000 to help find a breast cancer cure.
The pink-themed night at the movies on October 26 will feature the nationwide screening of the classic film in a bid to bring together more New Zealanders than ever before in united support against breast cancer.
For those who can't make it to the theatre, at-home DVD packs will be available through More FM.
These packs have been designed for consumers outside of event locations to host friends and family who are encouraged to start the DVD at 8pm sharp, to ensure the viewership is unified across New Zealand.
All proceeds from the night will go towards helping the Breast Cancer Foundation continue vital research for finding a cure. Each year, more than 2600 New Zealand women are diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 600 women die from it.
New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation chief executive Evangelia Henderson said investments in research and medical support improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment offered to women with breast cancer.
"While we wait for a cure, it is research that enables doctors to answer the questions that affect our survival rate."
Over the past five years, Dove, a Pink Ribbon Platinum Partner of the Breast Cancer Foundation has raised more than $300,000 through its annual Dove Pink Star Walk and limited-edition Dove Pink Range.
Tickets to Dove Pink at the Pictures are $20 per person and DVD packs are $20 each, with the full cost of both donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
Tickets will go on sale at Bay City Cinemas in Tauranga or at www.baycitycinemas.co.nz from October 3.
DVD packs will be available from More FM on the same day.
