And now for something completely different ... Tauranga Boys' College drama crew wanted a different genre for their annual combined production with Tauranga Girls'
College - and laughfest Spamalot ticked all the boxes.
Producer John Page says they wanted to take on a new challenge, far removed from their previous
productions (such as musicals Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Grease).
"Spamalot gets a little rough around the edges, we're still hamming it up and pushing the boundaries as much as possible.
"That's the thing about Monty Python, you either like it or you don't. If you like it, it's going to be fantastic."
A cast of 50, with 15 backstage crew and a live student band, have been perfecting the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Monty Python's Spamalot is a musical comedy adapted from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
