Scottish born singer-songwriter Isla Grant's first international tour was to the antipodes and she remembers it well. It was in 2000 and she travelled down under to support Foster and Allen. Since then she has built up a strong following in Australia and New Zealand. But this time she's come
to sing goodbye.
"It is going to be a very emotional tour because people have been so supportive over the years. People I have met here have become friends and you can't buy that kind of friendship in the music business,"she says.
Grant will be performing at Baycourt tomorrow night and will be singing her favourite songs, along with a fresh look, and brand new songs from her latest album From the Heart.
The country music singer has built up a considerable repertoire recording 11 albums, some of which have gone triple platinum, and she has fans in the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Although it is a farewell tour, retirement is not on the radar, in fact, quite the opposite.
She says the reason she needs to say goodbye to this part of the world is because Asia is demanding more of her music. "I did a show in Sri Lanka recently and nearly 5000 people showed up. I was treated like royalty."
