Music fans are in for a majestic show when Hank Marvin performs with his world-acclaimed gypsy jazz quartet at Baycourt.

Marvin achieved legendary status the world over from his early days as the lead guitarist with The Shadows, through to his forays into rock 'n' roll.

He is revered in the guitar world by many of the greats such as Jimmy Page, of Led Zeppelin, and Eric Clapton.

His technical skill, precision and unique sound has earned him legions of fans throughout the world and he is in Tauranga to perform one of his most recent musical loves - gypsy swing.

This love results in his interpretation of some of Django Reinhardt's and Stephane Grappelli's most famous compositions and performing with him will be pianist and accordionist Nunzio Mondia, who has added flair and genius to many of Marvin's top albums.

Nunzio has worked with artists including Michael Crawford, Demis Roussos and Shirley Bassey.

Guitarist and highly skilled-bassman Gary Taylor complements Marvin's unique sound. He was a founder of The Herd back in the 1960s alongside Peter Frampton, as well as a global session musician.

Rounding out the quartet is Western Australian bass player Pete Jeavons, who recorded tracks on the album Django's Castle and is currently recording new material with Marvin.
