Tarnished Frocks and Divas 2013 got underway officially last night with Dialogue with Divas, the first fundraiser leading up to the big event.

About 100 women, and a few men, gathered at Mills Reef winery to be entertained by singing duo Deelizious and Tarnished Frocks and Divas Trust chairwoman Anne Pankhurst, who took them down memory lane through chats with divas from previous shows.

They shared stories on how being part of the show had changed their lives. Tarnished Frocks and Divas is held every two years. Inspired by the loss of a friend to cancer, it features singing, dancing, acting, retro fashion and modelling by women all aged over 40.

It sounds like a riddle – but it really isn’t. The answer is a basement in Te Puke.
