There's no more room for traders' tables at this year's FASH event - the market fair for lovers of fabric, abandoned stitchery and haberdashery.
"We have a full house," says Beth Bowden, one of the organisers. "But that means there's lots of excitement for those coming in the door.
"We
have a wide range of participants, some who just want to make space in their cupboard, and others who have, for one reason or another, more fabric than they can deal with right now. Either way, we expect to see a mix of vintage and heritage goods, alongside that length bought on impulse last season, that just never got made into anything."
One of the most interesting tables is supported by the Tauranga Embroiderers' Guild. The guild is sometimes asked to do work that was incomplete or the embroidery was done but not into the finished piece.
"This is a great way to get hold of a project with a head start," says Pat MacDonald, guild president. "Or to take on something made with love, that just needs to be presented beautifully. We'll also have left over linen, canvas, yarns and skeins so that people wanting to have a go at this wonderful hobby can put together a project of their own."
