The year is 1963 and the city of Dallas, Texas, will forever be etched in the memories of people in the United States and around the world.
And with the 50th anniversary of the tragic assassination of US President John Kennedy upon us, Parkland's release is timely.
Parkland is the story of the three days just before and after the events in Dealey Plaza. A strong cast, featuring Billy Bob Thornton (Texas secret service chief Forrest Sorrels), Zac Efron (Dr Charles "Jim" Carrico) and Paul Giamatti (amateur cameraman Abraham Zapruder), delivers a realistic re-enactment, mainly of the events following the shooting.
The impending arrival of President Kennedy in Dallas that day had the city excited and on edge. He was a man bringing hope to many Americans and was widely loved. His death brought shock both to average citizens and the people charged with protecting him.
