Kaz and Brendon Weatherley have made a huge impact in the life of Patrick and presented him with a brand new mountainbike in Malawi recently.

A musical celebration for the whole family is on this Saturday afternoon featuring songs by Billy Joel, Toto, Genesis, John Farnham and Midge Marsden.

Among the performers will be X Factor finalists, Bethany and Laura-Lee from Fare Thee Well, as well as Petrina Thomas Chisholm and Hans Van Dongen of Double Xposure.

The concert is being organised by Kaz and Brendon Weatherley to celebrate the work of World Vision in Malawi. The couple have sponsored a child, Patrick, for more than 11 years and Kaz says she noticed the huge improvement in living standards once World Vision started working in Patrick's village of Mikolongwe.

"When you support a child, you are actually supporting many others in the village, people often underestimate how massive a change you are making when they give to World Vision," she says.

From water pumps, to milk co-ops, to bicycle ambulances, World Vision gives people self-sufficiency and independence, she says.

"Bay of Plenty people are generous in their donations and 2600 people sponsor children, and this is the time for them and others to see where their money goes," she says.

The concert called An Afternoon in Africa will feature photographs, stories and entertainment celebrating the success of World Vision.
