You can buy books for a good cause this weekend at the Red Cross' Book Fair held in Greerton.
Last year, 8000 books were sold at the inaugural event, raising over $10,000 towards the charity's humanitarian work.
On sale will be a variety of second hand books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles
and board games that have been donated for the charity's work and there's a good chance rummagers might find some gems, said co-ordinator Heather Dabrowski.
Funds raised will be set aside for international and local Red Cross projects. Locally, the Red Cross delivers Meals on Wheels, transports patients to medical appointments, supplies mobility aids, runs first aid courses, and maintains flowers in the Tauranga Hospital wards.
Emergency welfare response and Special Appeal funds have been used recently to provide assistance in the Whakatane flooding.
