He's not the only one. There will be an all-male group of local "models'' strutting their stuff on July 11 at the Waihi Beach Community Centre. Bra categories have something to offer for everyone: From fluoro frenzy and naughty nanas to zoo visit and steampunk.
"Our artists are busy putting the finishing touches on the bras at the moment and the ticket sales are going well. I'm not sure, if we will have any tickets left over for door sales on the night,'' said Sabine Hartmann, one of the show's organisers.
"It will be a great fun night out.'' Gifford says he is happy to support this year's cause. "I have a mass of fantastic memories from my high school years at Waihi College of, what I believe, is an area as beautiful as any in the world, the Karangahake Gorge.
"The people behind Arty Bra this year are doing a great thing protecting such a natural treasure." The show is hosted by Protect Karangahake Inc this year and the proceeds from this show will be used for research into the ecological importance of the gorge.
Tickets are available from The French Shop (Waihi Beach), Waihi Stationery, Budda Lounge (Whangamata), Positive Paeroa and the Te Aroha Organic Health Shop.
