Coastal Bay of Plenty has an ideal opportunity to showcase its tourist attractions when 200 delegates from around the country gather in Tauranga early next week for the ITOC (Inbound Tour Operator Council) conference.
It is the first time the conference has been held in the city and Tourism Bay of
Plenty - which looks after the area from Waihi Beach to Whakatane - will be hosting different tours for the delegates.
"The conference is fantastic for the region," said Tourism Bay of Plenty general manager Glenn Ormsby. "Key industry decision-makers will see what we have got to offer and, normally, it's not easy to get them here."
Keynote speakers at the conference will be Stephen Perry of the New Orleans Convention Bureau, Norm Thompson, deputy chief executive of Air New Zealand, and Kevin Bowler, chief executive of Tourism New Zealand.
The three-day conference starting Monday will be held in the Sebel Trinity Wharf Hotel and those wanting to register by Friday can email: Esther@bayofplentynz.com
