The Waitakere City Council may hold its rates at their present level for the coming year.
In its draft annual plan the council rates were to rise by 1 per cent, with increases in the Auckland Regional Authority rate and Watercare Services charges bringing the total rise to 1.58 per cent.
But last night Deputy Mayor Bob Stanic - chairman of the Go Waitakere ticket, which campaigned on no rate increase - said a report had been called to consider that option.
