Spurned lover stabs eight at Chinese kindergarten

A spurned lover ran amok with a knife in a kindergarten in south China, injuring four teachers and four children before he was stopped.The attacker, 24-year-old Xie Zhongcai, stormed the kindergarten in Beihai, brandishing a knife and leaving teachers and children in pools of blood.

The rampage ended when a father arrived to pick up his child and helped the female staff overpower Xie. The eight injured were taken to hospital and are out of danger.

Preliminary investigations showed Xie had been in love with one of the kindergarten teachers, who, rather than return his feelings, had arranged for him to be beaten up.
