A mother who was sentenced to seven days in jail for refusing to vaccinate her young son has now lost primary custody of him.
Oakland County Judge Karen McDonald ruled yesterday that joint custody of the child would be shared with his father, James Horne.
Mother Rebecca Bedrow was freed from jail Monday after serving five days, after McDonald sentenced her to contempt of court, following the mother of two's refusal to comply with a court order dating back to November 2016 which stated she would have a week to bring the boy's vaccines up-to-date.
A week ago, Bedrow pleaded with the judge, saying on the record that she was "not a lazy parent", but rather "a passionate mother who cares deeply about my children, their health, and their well-being."
