A group of friends has sent the photo of a man to news agencies, claiming he died in several terror attacks and other tragedies.
The New York Post reports the unnamed man, who lives in Mexico, has so far been featured in news stories about victims of the Orlando shooting, the Istanbul airport bombing and the EgyptAir crash.
According to the New York Post, the man's face pops up on a New York Times clip about the Orlando shooting, a BBC article, and several social media threads about terror victims.
"Help, my brother Alfonso was at Aturk Airport and we don't know anything about him, please help #turkey," @marty_batato tweeted, along with the man's photo, after the bombing.
The unnamed man, who hasn't been killed several times, told France24 he had contacted the BBC and the New York Times and asked them to delete his photo - but they didn't respond.
"My photo is everywhere because of someone who started it as a prank after a legal dispute," he told the site.
He is yet to take legal action to get his photo removed.
