Police in Louisiana say 3-year-old twins have died after being found unresponsive in a pickup truck outside their home.
The twins' mother contacted neighbours on Saturday (local time) to say she was looking for her children. They were found in the truck outside their home in Bossier City, and emergency workers were called.
Autopsies on the twins, identified as Oliver and Aria Orr, have revealed their deaths were heat-related, a police spokesperson told People.
"Our investigation will focus on how the kids ended up in the pickup truck, and whether it was due to someone's actions or was accidental," said Bossier City Public Information Officer Mark Natale.
No criminal charges have been filed against the children's mother or their father, Travis Orr, who works as a deputy with the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office.
