One of the women at the centre of a video showing two women fighting in an Indiana Walmart has spoken out, saying she was standing up for a store employee.
The two-part video, which shows the two women fighting in front of a young boy while onlookers watch, is making its way around the internet after being posted to Youtube.
One of the women in the fight, identified only as Amber, called the Smiley Morning Show on WZPL to say she was reacting to a racist remark made by the other woman at Beech Grove Walmart.
She said the fight broke out when she confronted the woman, who was on a motorized scooter, for using the n-word and verbally abusing an employee.
"I was walking by - me and my son - and she was sitting there yelling at an employee at Walmart and she was telling her that she was a n****r.
"She used the n-word, so in my defence for the employee, I walked by and asked her if she was miserable with her life."
During the fight, Amber is heard encouraging her son to punch the other woman in the face.
"My son takes martial arts classes," Amber told the Smiley Morning Show.
She said she doesn't blame Walmart employees for not intervening, but is critical of security staff and onlookers.
"No one jumped in, no one tried to help, no one tried to pull my son back."
She added that she was concerned for her son.
The man filming the fight is heard remarking "This is white trash at its finest".
After the fight, Amber said the man who filmed the Youtube video was showing his footage to police, who laughed.
"The guy with the camera was showing the video to the cops and they were all standing around laughing about it," she said.
