SAO PAULO (AP) Brazilian police officials say nearly 450 kilograms (about 990 pounds) of cocaine were found in a helicopter owned by a senator's two sons.
A statement from the Federal Police says the helicopter was seized Sunday night in Espirito Santo state when it landed in an open field. Four people including the pilot were arrested as they loaded the drug into a van.
The helicopter is owned by an agricultural firm belonging to the sons of Sen. Zeze Perrella.
Perrella family lawyer Antonio Carlos de Almeida says the senator's sons were not involved in the incident and the pilot who worked for them was using the helicopter for his own purposes.
