WOBURN, Massachusetts (AP) A lawyer for an Irish nanny charged in the death of a baby girl in the U.S. asked a judge Tuesday to order prosecutors to provide more information on how the child died.
Aisling Brady McCarthy is charged with murder in the January death of Rehma Sabir. The girl was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries while McCarthy was caring for her on her first birthday and died two days later.
McCarthy's lawyer, Melinda Thompson, said prosecutors haven't provided specific information about what happened to the little girl.
Thompson said grand jury testimony refers to "potential shaking and head injury" but not information on when or how that happened.
"It's very unclear what the allegations are against my client," Thompson said.
