Firefighters have extinguished a car fire on State Highway 1.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand was called the scene near Hunterville at 3.25am on Monday.
"It was well alight on arrival and extinguished shortly thereafter," a FENZ spokesperson said.
"There were no reports of injuries. Police were informed, but that was mainly because the car was on the highway."
