A house where a murdered man's body was hidden for 10 days is up for sale as a "fantastic" development opportunity priced at $100,000 below its RV.
The property at 117 Akers Rd, Linton -- where in 2013 Whetu Hansen, 48, was said to have been shot multiple times, his body stashed for more than a week, and then sealed in a 44-gallon drum before being dumped in the Whanganui River.
Billed as having "lifestyle potential", the listing for the three-bedroom, one bathroom house and large section across two titles on Trade Me claims it's a "fantastic opportunity" to renovate, build or redevelop.
"This quiet setting has views with fully established plantations of trees on both sides, comprising of two titles," it said.
The house has a floor area of 117sq m, and sits on a 20,365sq m piece of land, and comes with "extra-large" former poultry sheds that "need work or demolishing".
The property is close to Linton School, and "only minutes to Linton, Massey and Palmerston North City".
The seller is seeking offers over $250,000 -- $100,000 below its RV, according to the listing.
Last November, Neil Raymond Swain, 58, was found guilty of murdering Mr Hansen.
The Crown argued Swain shot Mr Hansen five times after an argument, stored his body for 10 days, then sealed it in a 44-gallon drum before dumping it in the Whanganui River.
His defence argued that Mr Hansen arrived at Swain's Akers Rd property already fatally wounded and that the Crown had only proven he was an accessory after the fact.
