If your dream is to fly, you can apply for the Wanganui Aero Club's "learn to fly" scholarship, open to the Wanganui public.
Chief flying instructor Stephen Love said the $1500 scholarship was a great opportunity for anyone to make a start towards a career in aviation or a hobby that could last a lifetime.
"We are looking for someone who has little or no flying experience but has a dream to fly and is prepared to put in the hard yards to achieve this goal," he said.
"The scholarship will get the successful candidate well on the way to their first solo flight and be a perfect stepping stone to a private pilot's licence."
Mr Love said the scholarship would give the successful applicant around 11 hours of flying, which is around the average number of hours most students require to fly solo.
