The Royal Christmas Variety Show at the War Memorial Hall chamber yesterday drew a capacity crowd, with songs and skits from the West End, Broadway and beyond.
The concert series from touring company Operatunity included Christmas carols and singalong favourites, such as Knees Up, Mother Brown and the Old Bull and Bush.
Performers in the Wanganui concert, Susan Borland, Debbie Penney, Bonaventure Allan-Moetaua and Scot Hall, were accompanied by Eli Moore on piano.
Operatunity has been running for more than 10 years and tours eight variety concerts around New Zealand, amounting to more than 200 concerts annually.
