As school holidays come to a close, some Kiwi families are already thinking about what their next adventure might be.
A holiday in Fiji could be on the cards for many - new research by Booking.com has revealed the Pacific island to be the most popular destination for Kiwi families, visited by 21,000 New Zealanders last July alone.
Perhaps surprisingly, the United States of America came in second, beating our close neighbours Australia in third place. This interest in the US could be due to a wider variety of airlines offering direct flights and more competitive fares.
Using guest review data, Booking.com has also pinpointed the top three family-friendly Fiji accomodations for Kiwi travellers - check them out below.
Boasting a waterfront location, Paradise Cove Resort features over 200 metres of private beach area. Surrounded by a beautiful garden landscape, this property offers a day spa, an outdoor pool and a restaurant. There are numerous family-friendly activities on offer, including a kids' club and babysitting services.
One Kiwi reviewer, Jackson, said; "Rooms are modern and comfortable. The bathrooms are a treat. The island is fantastic to tour by land or sea. The food was delicious. You can walk barefoot in the sand wherever you go!"
With an infinity pool and landscaped gardens, this beachfront property is located within a resort complex which features an 18-hole golf course, a driving range, 14 restaurants and 10 tennis courts. The resort offers child-minding services, a kids' club and a playground.
Sarah, a New Zealander who stayed at the resort earlier in the year said the Sheraton was "family friendly and kids eat for free".
This stylish beachfront hotel offers luxury rooms and suites with private balcony and free internet. Guests have access to a day spa, 18-hole golf course, open-air restaurant and five heated swimming pools. There's plenty of fun and entertainment to keep the kids happy and an adult only pool should you need a bit of quiet.
Australian reviewer Erin recently returned from the Radisson Blu Resort and described it as a "great resort for kids".
