Kiwi tennis player Marina Erakovic still intends to play a WTA tournament in Istanbul despite the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advising against New Zealanders travelling to Turkey.
Erakovic is due to play qualifying at the clay court tournament in a fortnight.
The Belgian terror attacks and a series of bomb blasts in Istanbul have heightened security fears, but Erakovic has been assured the tournament will be safe.
She says obviously it's a little bit scary now with the recent attacks but the WTA is doing a good job for them with security in hotels etc.
