New Zealand Davis Cup player Dan King-Turner made the semifinals of the US$15,000 Saskatoon Futures in Canada today, but he was the only Kiwi to taste success.
King-Turner defeated American fourth seed Greg Ouellette 2-6 6-1 6-4 to reach the semifinals where he will take on Nikita Kryvonos (United States) for a place in the final.
Meanwhile, fellow Kiwi Davis Cup team members Rubin Statham and Michael Venus were beaten in the quarter-finals of their respective futures events.
Statham, the current Kiwi No 1, lost to Frenchman Nicolas Renavand 7-6(5) 6-4 in the quarter-finals at Bourg-En-Bresse in France.
At Rochester in New York, third-seeded Venus, in his second tournament back after a long injury layoff, lost in three sets in the quarter-finals to American fifth seed Sekou Bangoura 4-6 6-3 7-5.
