As I write this, I am sorting through photographs taken over the past week and working out which ones will go where in the paper.
Looking at the week's photos is always a highlight of my job, as each week, I am reminded of how many great things we have going on in our community. Be it sport matches, charity events, cheese races or even dancing, there really is something for everyone.
Over the past few weeks I have spent a lovely evening with the good folk at the RSA who have introduced "old time dancing" to their Friday nights. I have also hung out with some of the younger members of our community at their dancing and music on a Wednesday in the War Memorial Hall. It seems it doesn't matter how old you are, music and dance will always get people involved.
Getting involved is certainly the key to a great community, and I spent an enjoyable day both photographing and participating in a charity bowls tournament earlier this month. My effort was a case of more enthusiasm than skill, and the Stratford Press team ended up at the bottom of the table.
The tournament was to raise funds and awareness of the SAFE communities trust, which is very much reliant on US, the people who live here, getting involved.
