While the USA is making headlines across the world for its new border controls, the Stratford Business Association says it is looking forward to welcoming plenty of AmeriCARna cars to Stratford later this month.
Lauren Darrah, secretary of the Stratford Business Association, says cars will arrive in Stratford on Friday, February 24 at 10.30am, leaving again at 12.30pm.
"It is envisioned the cars will fit on Broadway between Fenton and Seyton Streets," she says.
This is the first time the AmeriCARna event has come to town since she started in her role with the SBA.
"I am looking forward to the atmosphere on the day. It is exciting to have the cars stopping in Stratford again, especially as it coincides with the 10-year anniversary for AmeriCARna."
Stratford District Council and the SBA are delighted to have the event back in Stratford, says Lauren, and there will be plenty for people to enjoy on the day.
"Prospero Place will be alive with activity with live music from 10am to 10pm, as well as market stalls, entertainment for children and plenty to eat and drink for sale."
Lauren says she hopes businesses will get into the spirit of the day in advance, with the SBA running a window competition to encourage shops to show their support.
Lauren says anyone interested in having a stall at the market on the day, or registering their business for the window competition, to call her at the Stratford District Council on 06 765 6099 for further details.
