June is the traditional 'changeover' month and the new Board of the Stratford Lions was inducted by Zone 5 Chairman, Barry Whittington.
Officers for the 2015/2016 year are President Pat Moore, 1st VP Lynn Rogers, 2nd VP David Cripps, Secretary Raewyn McDonald, Treasurer Jean Taylor, Lion Tamer Maureen Ostler, Tail Twister Trudy Sullivan, Almoner Teresa Uhlenberg, Immediate Past President Wayne Burnnand, Membership Pat Moore, Projects David Taylor, Community Maureen Burnnand, Social Colleen Moore, Bulletin Editor Mike Walmsley and Publicity Officer, Delia Smith
Made possible by the support of the local community, 'changeover' is also traditionally the time for end-of-year donations with the Salvation Army, St John's Ambulance and Foodbank being major recipients. The Club is also keen to see the donations are used within the local community.
The Lions now look forward to awarding the 'Youth of the Year' Award in August and work will begin on the organisation of the popular Christmas Stocking Raffle. Members will also be at the Stratford A&P Show, assisting with parking and gates, and selling raffle tickets for the Christmas Stocking from their caravan.
But it is not all work, an Italian Murder Mystery evening held recently was a great success. The costumes and food had an Italian theme and there was lots of laughter and discussion as the clues were uncovered. One team was successful in naming the murderer.
