Marie Moir is looking forward to taking time for herself when she retires from Stratford Physiotherapy at the end of the month.
Marie, who has owned the private practice in Stratford for 26 years, says the time has come for her to retire and spend time catching up with her adult children.
While Marie will no longer be working at the clinic, she has no plans to leave the district.
"I live right on the Patea river and I have very special memories here."
Instead Marie will be working from home taking clients for acupuncture and reiki treatments. "They are my real passion and I am looking forward to keeping in touch with some of my regular clients."
Marie says it was the idea of healing people that first drew her to train as a physiotherapist after her final year at high school, "so I am pleased that I can continue help heal people from home".
Maire has sold the Stratford Physiotherapy clinic to Tim Connole.
"Tim is very enthusiastic and I am sure he will be a wonderful addition to Stratford."
Marie's last day will be April 24 and Tim will take over as of April 28. Maire says she will miss the staff and all her clients from Stratford Physiotherapy.
"I have had an overwhelming amount of support from the community during my time here and have had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people".
She adds however being tied to a business for 26 years means she hasn't had the opportunity to take an extended break. "It will be nice to relax for a while and get to know my home and my garden a bit better."
Marie says she would like to thank all her hard working staff and dedicated clients for their support throughout the years.
