The TSB Pool Complex in Stratford was the target of a break-in on Saturday night.
Vicki Jagersma, property asset manager at Stratford District Council, says security alarms were activated and the monitoring company, ADT Monitoring, went to investigate.
She says that while the exterior of the building is sometimes the target of tagging, graffiti and other minor vandalisms, this is only the second time in 10 years that the complex has been broken into.
Sven Hanne, the council's director of assets, is pleased police have been able to collect fingerprints from damaged roller doors and other surfaces in the building.
Surveillance camera footage is being checked and Sven encourages anyone with information about the break-in to contact Stratford Police.
