Joken, who races tomorrow at New Plymouth, finished 1000m ahead of Salman in 1:1.9, the 600 in 36.2. Kickit ended his work with 1000 in 1:3.1, the 600 in 36.2.
Sar'major ran 1000m in 1:3.8, the 600 in 36.5.
The Immortal One was not after time when running 1000 in 1:6.5, the 600 in 38.6.

Ebony Honor was not extended in his work at Takanini but looked ready for an improved race at Te Rapa when cruising over 1000m in 1:8.1, the 600 in 41.5.

At Matamata, Zoulou King looked in good order to resume racing tomorrow at Te Rapa when running a comfortable 1200m on a good plough in 1:19, the 1000 in 1:4.2 and 600 in 37.2.
Butterscotch did an easy 1000m in 1:8.4, the 600 in 38.8. Spring Rain furthered her preparation for the Thousand Guineas at Riccarton with 1200 in 1:17.4, the 600 in 38.5.
Danamite dawdled over 1200m in 1:23.8, the 600 in 39.6. Bawalaksana was firmly held over 1000 in 1:12.6, the 600 in 41.4.
Te Akau Dancer went effortlessly over 1000m in 1:9.8 (40.5), as did Golden Dawn over 1200 in 1:22 (39.5). Roman Tuscany put plenty of dash into his 1200 in 1:16.8, the 600 in 38.
Anatomy ran a steady 1000m in 1:10.2, the 600 in 39.8. Piper Star went 1200 with Academie Francaise in 1:19.8, the 600 in 37.2.
Spritza took 1:18.5 for 1200m, the 600 in 38.2. Lunette loafed over 1200 in 1:25 (41).
Last-start winner Beckon, who races at New Plymouth, impressed over two rounds on a good plough at Cambridge, especially when sprinting his last 600m in 37.

Fair Gift, a likely runner at Paeroa next Wednesday, hit out smartly on a good plough at Te Aroha to return 51.1 for 800m, the 600 in 38.
In-form Majoubah, who looks in grand order, was let off with pacework.
Ballyreel and Diamond Runner wound up their preparations for Te Aroha on Wednesday. On a firm No 1 grass, Ballyreel went 1200m in 1:22.5, the 600 strongly in 37.3. Diamond Runner was untroubled to run 600 on the plough in 40.9.
Winged Victory was the only horse who went at speed at Pukekohe, timed for 800m on a good plough in 52.4, the 600 in 37.4.
It was a similar quiet after-raceday scene at Avondale, where Volga Boatman ran 1400m against the main running rail in 1:31.1, the 600 in 37.4.
