A Sky Sport interview from the ASB Classic took a bizarre twist yesterday when married Israeli doubles player Jonathan Erlich said it was 'the women' that attracted his team to Auckland.
Erlich, who won the Australian Open doubles title in 2008, had progressed through to the semi-final of the ASB Classic doubles with US partner Scott Lipsky when he hijacked a post-match interview with Stephen McIvor to announce their appreciation of Auckland's females.
McIvor directed his question 'what keeps you coming back to Auckland?' to Lipsky, but Erlich jumped in stating 'the woman' with a devilish grin.
McIvor cut the conversation short, stating it was a family show, but later mentioned 'the womaniser' in a follow up question.
"I just hope my wife isn't watching," Erlich sheepishly said.
