The summer heat and humidity is even getting to some of our best athletes.

All Blacks and Hurricanes winger Julian Savea felt the brunt of the testing climate at Hurricanes training today, needing to cool off in a fridge.

Fellow Hurricanes winger Cory Jane took the photo after a particularly gruelling training session in Gisborne, with Savea finding what is probably a preferable approach to the usual ice baths athletes receive.

Jane and Savea have not only been improving their on-field partnership, with the duo also heading along to the sevens recently in splendid costume.

The Hurricanes kick off their Super Rugby season on the 26th of February with a visit to Canberra to take on the Brumbies.
