Aussie poker player wins $110,000 at NZPT

Australian poker player David Lim has won the Main Event of the 2013 New Zealand Poker Tour at Sky City Casino in Auckland tonight, earning $110,000.

After 28 hours of play over three days, Lim defeated fellow Aussie Nathan Gubieski heads up for the win at 6.30pm - with second place taking home $70,290.

Lim outlasted a field of 213 players that all bought in for $2200, generating a prize pool of $426,000.

It was the first time that a non-Kiwi has won at an ANZPT Auckland or an APPT Auckland event.

The Main Event was the flagship event of the nine-day Festival of Poker series, which featured seven events and attracted players from all over the world.
