Despite no promises of a regular starting place for new club the Dragons, next season former Raiders second-rower Bronson Harrison is hoping consistent NRL performances will earn him a World Cup recall to the New Zealand squad.
Harrison joined the Dragons this week and believes he is at the peak of his rugby league powers - but admits he has a point to prove after being released by Canberra.
Harrison, 27, was called up as a replacement in New Zealand's victorious 2008 World Cup squad and says: "I believe I've got a lot to prove when it comes to playing for New Zealand. I hold playing for my country in such high regard that I want to play in the next World Cup.
"Winning the World Cup in 2008 was a great achievement for the whole team and there's no greater honour for Kiwi players, so I was disappointed not to make last year's Four Nations squad.
"As one door closed at the Raiders, another opened at the Dragons, but there are no guarantees that I am going to get into the team straight away. It's up to me to earn a starting place by working hard in training and earning my spot."
