Meet the Herald's Olympics team

The London Olympics begin in less than a week. From Monday and for three weeks, our award-winning sports team will be live from the Games city at nzherald.co.nz, in each morning's print Herald, on the APN news wire, in APN regional papers and on Twitter, Facebook and the Herald on Sunday.

David Leggat
Leggat is a past winner of both the Sir Lance Cross Cup for Olympic journalism and Sports Columnist of the Year. He is attending his fifth Olympics, and has been to four Commonwealth Games. He is Herald's chief sports writer.

Andrew Alderson
Alderson is preparing for his third Olympics, having been in Beijing four years ago and at the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010. He is senior sports reporter for the Herald on Sunday and has covered a wide range of international sport.

Brett Phibbs
Phibbs is heading to his third Olympic Games, to go with five Commonwealth Games, along with three Rugby World Cups and the soccer World Cup in 2010 and has covered numerous major news assignments.
