New Zealand tennis No 1 Dan King-Turner has made the quarter-finals at the US$35,000 ($52,000) Challenger in Brasilia, Brazil.
King-Turner came through three rounds of qualifying before beating sixth-seeded Brazilian Ricardo Hocevar 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3 in the second round.
Hocevar is ranked 167th in the world and King-Turner is 352nd.
King-Turner is now likely to play top seed and current world No 90, Nicolas Massu (Chile).
