Revealed: The city for the world's cheapest coffee

Wellingtonians take note: the price of your daily coffee is ranked in 16th place on the list of the world's most expensive cities for coffee.

Rio de Janeiro in Brazil was named the cheapest city in the world for a cup of coffee, followed by the city of Sao Paulo, according to the 2016 Coffee Price Index by research company Service Partner ONE.

Lima in Peru, Milan in Italy and Seville in Spain also made the top five, followed by Ha Noi in Vietnam, Valencia in Spin, Guatemala City in Guatemala, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Manila in Philippines.

To grab a cup of the good stuff in the Philippine capital, you'd be looking to fork out just over $2 at an average price of $2.38, but it's much cheaper if you're in Brazil. In Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, you can expect to pay $1.45.

On the other end of the scale, Zurich in Switzerland is the most expensive country in the world to buy coffee, at an average of $4.96 per cup.
