All Blacks sevens coach Clark Laidlaw is on the hunt for a new assistant coach.
Laidlaw has decided to stick with interim coach Tomasi Cama but has axed Scott Waldrom.
The Scotsman has expressed interest in tapping into other areas of their game in a bid to improve on their fourth placed finish in the world series.
Laidlaw says he and Cama have enough experience around what the sevens game looks like.
He says there is scope for them to look at the game slightly different around a technical or skills stand point which is an exciting opportunity.
