Sonny Bill Williams has reportedly met with Chiefs management, fuelling speculation he will return to the Super Rugby franchise.

A Fox Sports camera captured Williams and his manager, Khoder Nasser, meeting with New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) officials at a Sydney restaurant yesterday.

He reportedly met with Chiefs head coach Dave Rennie, assistant coach Wayne Smith and NZRU general manager of professional rugby Neil Sorensen.

Nasser and Sorensen were seen exchanging documents.

Williams was last year part of the Chiefs squad which won the Super Rugby championship.

The meeting follows Williams' controversial inclusion in the Kiwis squad for the Rugby League World Cup, meaning Tohu Harris will miss the tournament.

He was also named as the Sydney Roosters' player of the year for his part in their NRL premiership triumph.
