Representatives for Dan Carter say it is disappointing a "hoax" involving the rugby player has been given publicity.
A Trade Me member listed for sale photos allegedly of Carter described as "more racey than a racehorse", but with no evidence they existed.
The auction was pulled by Trade Me only a couple of hours after the listing, with a spokesman saying the seller operated multiple memberships on the site in breach of rules.
Essentially Group's Dean Hegan said today Carter was disappointed with the claims and would not be making any comment about the "hoax offer".
