Rotorua's Erena Mikaere has been called into the Silver Ferns trial squad ahead of the upcoming Constellation Cup series.
The former Southern Steel defender who signed with the West Coast Fever for next season has been called into a 26-strong Silver Ferns trial squad.
The squad will trial in Auckland on September 15 before a wider Silver Ferns squad is named on September 19, including a team of 12 to contest the Constellation Cup against Australia in October.
It is a chance to go back to the drawing board for the Silver Ferns, who were humiliated in the Commonwealth Games final against Australia 58-40.
Mikaere, 26, was part of the Kia Magic side which won the ANZ Championship competition in 2012. She has never represented the Silver Ferns.
